Brazilian guitarist and vocalist Mario Bakuna brings his acclaimed live project Brazilian Landscapes to Bull's Head, following a sold-out season of international festivals and prestigious venues worldwide.
A journey through Brazil's rhythmic and harmonic diversity, samba, bossa nova, forró, baião, xaxado and Ijexá, Brazilian Landscapes sees Bakuna and his musicians reinterpret works by some of Brazil's most celebrated composers: Marcos Valle, Claudio Bertrami, Rique Pantoja, Gilberto Gil, Djavan, João Bosco and Arismar do Espírito Santo, alongside forrozeiros legends Dominguinhos and Luiz Gonzaga.
The set is the result of years spent travelling across Brazil, where Bakuna immersed himself in the country's regional sounds, from the driving choruses of the arid Northeast (Forró, Baião, Xaxado) to the African-rooted grooves of Ijexá, the swing of Samba, and the refined elegance of Bossa Nova. Together, the band celebrates one of the richest musical territories on Earth.
