Established for 90 years and regulars at the BBC Proms, BBC Cardiff Singer of the World, the BBC National Orchestra of Wales are also our long-standing Lichfield Festival Associate Orchestra!
As the major event in our America250 series to celebrate the 250th anniversary of American Independence, the BBC National Orchestra of Wales and visiting conductor Ryan McAdams bring us an all-American programme, featuring New England-inspired works by Charles Ives, the sumptuous Samuel Barber Violin Concerto (joined by multiple award-winning US-Russian soloist, Maria Ioudenitch pictured) alongside the full version of the stunning and much-loved Appalachian Spring, Aaron Copland’s ballet for orchestra, often cited as one of American music’s great masterpieces.
