The 7-piece band is Kevin Henderson, Adam Sutherland, Gordon Gunn and Charlie McKerron on fiddles, David Robertson on percussion, Marc Clement on guitar and songs, and Brian McAlpine on keyboards. Some are members of Capercaillie, The Nordic Fiddlers Bloc, Deacon Blue, Treacherous Orchestra, The Grit Orchestra and The Celtic Fiddle Festival, as well as others.

Session A9 have gone on to record six albums, the most recent being "The Magic Roundabout". Following its release, it was nominated for Album of the Year at The Scottish Traditional Music Awards. This is not the first time the band have been involved in these awards. Previously in 2012, they were honoured to collect the award for “Best Live Act”.
